"Shane really shouldn't have been surprised when he woke up to find his arms missing, but he was.  Gretchen was gone.  With his arms.  All she left behind was the scent of hazelnut and lilac conditioner and a smooth stretch of skin running from his armpits to the top of his shoulders.  The ancient radio clock perched on the windowsill said it was 2:16pm.  The pitiful yowls of Sir Percy Snugglekins said it was time to feed the cat."
