Day 7, Part 4: Heavy Traffic on Memory Lane - The shortest distance between two points is never a straight line - not in Aldergate. To get to my first meeting with the University Council I've got to traverse miles of twisty medieval streets and decades - if not centuries - of troublesome history, my own and otherwise.
Looking back now, I can see that getting the job of Vice-Chancellor was, perhaps, too easy. Doing the job, however ... that promises to be quite another matter.
